a little nostalgic

okay, so most people wouldn't look at this guy and think that he is something to get misty-eyed over, but he really reminds me of the drawings my grandpa used to draw just to tease us grandkids...he would draw people with these runny faucet noses--and I would get very upset. "That's not the way to draw people!" and I would erase the nose he just drew and drew my own. I would just think these people were soooooo ugly....oh man if I could just have one more chance to draw with Papaw!

It kinda made me sad and I have to express that I just wanted to sit with this guy and feel close to Papaw if only for a moment...
This is one of those things only I would get upset about--everyone else would just see a stinkin' faucet head guy...

What's up with the doopey look on Gavin's face?? It could be the cake he's been sneaking! I was trying to have a heart to heart with his big sis about how she should be acting and she was crying and wailing and had to stand in the corner until I GOT tired of it(her attitude was thatBAD), and while we were talking Gavin decided to sneak into the kitchen and grab some cake since it was just sitting on the counter and hey with no one telling him no...there was no stopping him! It's almost like he couldn't resist since there was a barstool right there too....





the best way to eat cake? One pinch at a time!! mmm....and it's better if you can just barely put your fingers in between the saran wrap....that's the best part! of course you only want the pieces with frosting, a technique Gavin is demonstrating.

I just love this picture. I took it in color and black and white, and I think it looks so tranquil...I would love to just sit and look at this moon, but too bad! I had a Girl Scout leaders meeting and had to go, but at least got this picture--I think it's my new wallpaper....

the hunt is on!

these are pictures of my husband taking the kids "hunting" with his airgun(with no ammo) but man it sounded like it was shooting! The kids have been wanting to go hunting with their dad, so he was forced to take them after Gavin decided that he really wanted to go. Note the fantastic orange "cape" Gavin has on...he was so excited about that! As you can tell the road is right there, so there's no real hunting going on this day!

"I'm not gettn' down MOMA!" is what I heard from Gavin's room, so I ran in his room and found him sitting on the shelf in his room which has been bolted to the wall--yep...that puppy would've fell down a few months ago! I ran to go to get my camera and he decided that he would, in fact get down....notice the cool spiderman undies...

How can a little boy go from sad to happy so quick?? Two words....HOT CHOCOLATE!! I was ready to give it up...he was soooo upset because I was not understanding what he needed! Then when I offered him some chocolatey goodness he was all smiles, and I am so glad because he is such a sweet guy I hate seeing him upset...

This is a picture of my husband modeling the new "RAMBO" bag I made for him to carry to the deerstand...it's actually recycled from a pair of pants he had bought that were way too small...I thought it came out great, maybe he will tell me how great it worked out at the deerstand.
The "I see something in the distance" look is better than the first day of school pose he had. He looked at me like I was crazy when I told him to model this for my blog...little does he know I am already there!

these are pictures that I took yesterday...its so odd to have a rose blooming in November...and I just love how yellow the tree is in my neighbor's yard...

Isn't she cute? I just love the way she looks with her tooth gone. She was so proud of herself...she pulled her tooth herself(at least partly) Oh there was the usual drama of things that go along with her, but she was the one who ended up pulling her tooth out--which was my job on the last two teeth. It only took about an hour...with much wailing and crying...and we finally ended up putting dental floss and me pulling, then her pulling the tooth all the way out. She's talking on the phone with my mom, telling her that she just pulled out her tooth.

this is my daughter with her new tote made by me....I love this fabric and love how easy it was to sew up...she really likes it...and I think I bought enough for me one too...I just love the colors of it and oh man...I gotta see if they have more of it at WM!! It was off the dollar menu...total cost of this tote? About 1.oo...
